'Paradise Garden' at Bandra
After the #BANDRA installation, Bandra seems to be finding more spaces for art installations. Smt.Poonam Mahajan – MP, Mumbai North Central and Mumbai Youth Forum along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan inaugurated artist-social activist Rouble Nagi’s The Paradise Garden sculpture opposite Mehboob Studios, Bandra.
The artwork which is initiated by Smt.Poonam Mahajan and Rouble Nagi, is supported by Ashish Shelar – MLA & President, BJP Mumbai and Sharad Ughade, Assistant Commissioner – H Ward BMC who were also present at the event alongside Madhukeshwar Desai and Asif Bhamla, President - Bhamla Foundation.
"Public art has the power to energize our public spaces, arouse our thinking and transform the places where we live, work and play into more welcoming, beautiful and interactive communities. Public art isn’t just art for the wealthy or those inclined to visit museums and gallery shows; it is art for everyone. As an artist, I seek solace and inspiration in Nature; Nature and Art are inseparably linked. Nowhere can we find as much inspiration, peace and solace as in Nature. We must respect the natural order of things and find a way to live accordingly. My latest installation is a tribute to nature, my eternal source of inspiration," said Rouble Nagi on her inspiration to create her current work of art.
"I am very happy to be here to inaugurate this beautiful artwork by Rouble Nagi and the pleasure's been all mine. We are very thankful to Rouble for beautifying the city and as a Mumbaikar we are only too happy to join in this ongoing movement to beautify our city and have these wonderful art installations. As Rouble said, art is not for any exclusive section of society, it has to be enjoyed by all.... art becomes artwork with increased audience appreciation. Also the location for me has a personal significance as I have always lived in Bandra until I got married... And with Mehboob Studios right here where we have done so much work in the industry," enthused Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
