Sobhana Jaya-Madhavan awarded with Woman of the Decade Award






TISSian Sobhana Jaya-Madhavan was recently awarded by Women Economic Forum (WEF) with the Woman of the Decade Award in the field of Education and Leadership.

Sobhana graduated from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS, Mumbai campus) with an MSW degree (Medical and Psychiatric Social Work) in 1991. She has over 25 years of experience developing and leading teams in different parts of the world. She is a relationship architect, social good advisor, blockchain and crypto enthusiast.

Sobhana has worked with NGOs in India and Malaysia prior to immigrating to Canada in 1995.

Sobhana is the associate vice-president (AVP) of external relations at Simon Fraser University, where she train teams, engage with diverse internal and external partners, and all levels of government, international/ national/provincial/ local agencies and diverse communities to strengthen strategic relationships and lead work on shared goals. '"People" are at the heart of all my paid and pro bono works in Canada and overseas," she says.
